About GVS

Grameena Vikas Sangham is a registered community development organization located in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh. It works towards achieving comprehensive village development through empowerment in villages. GVS intends to bring about a real and lasting change in all dimensions through an active synergy of efforts of the locals, social activists, and philanthropists, and its distinct programmes.

Grameena Vikas Sangham developed a customized, micro-development plan to address the needs of village, resources available in the village.

In order to benefit the people of below poverty line (BPL), a comprehensive profile of the village with regard to health, education, economic conditions, women empowerment, and nutrition, has been prepared with the help of social activists and subject experts.

Grameena Vikas Sangham urges the community’s moral, volunteer and financial support to the historic movement and seeks encouragement in spreading the movement across the villages of Andhra Pradesh, in the national interest.

Construction of Individual Sanitary Lavatories

Open defecating, urinating, and unhygienic environment in villages; not only spread infectious diseases but also damages the self-respect and dignity of women.

R.O Water Plant

People living in the villages of Bhamini Mandal, Srikakulam district, and surrounding villages have been infecting with diarrhea, dengue, typhoid and malaria.

Construction of Sewers

A lot of used household water and sewage was on the roads in the village of Kadumu, in Kotturu Mandal due to the lack of drains.

Free Tuition Center

Educational development is one of the main indicators for the development of villages. Usually, students in villages have to rely on bare minimum facilities of their public schools.

Cow Based Natural Farming

Grameena Vikasa Sangham has initiated Cow based Organic Farming in old Ghansara village of Bhamini Mandal, Srikakulam district in 2015.

Plantation

Today, global warming, caused by the increased levels of pollutants such as Carbon dioxide, sulphur dioxide, etc., has become a serious problem.

Conducting Festivals

Saamuhik Deeparadhana: Like every year, the Karthika Deepothsavam programmes were organised by the students of Vidyarthi Vikas Kendras this year also.

Computer Training Center

Technical education is essential along with general education for students of the present day. Training in usage of computer is a must.
