Grameena vikas Sangh has reopened Vidyardhi Vikasa Kendras (VVK) at Kottur and Bhamini mandals in the month of August as the corona epidemic intensity reduced. All students and instructors attend classes while following the Covid appropriate behaviours. Corona has had a profound impact on direct teaching methods and student learning approaches. A large percentage of students in elementary and high schools are lagging in basic learning skills such as reading, writing, and multiplication. Studies led by renowned economist Jean Drez have shown that students' discipline is damaged and their behaviour changes drastically due to pandemic circumstances.
Under these circumstances the Grameena vikas Sangh planned to pay special attention to reading and writing abilities of the students in the Vidyardhi Vikasa Kendras. Students of 3, 4, and 5 standards were selected and graded into four groups: A, B, C, and D, based on their proficiency in reading and writing simple words, Compound words, double letters, and consonant words. Instructors strive to get all students to A grade by teaching them to read and write 20 words a day. They have prepared study material particularly for this cause.
