Grameena Vikas Sangham urges the community’s moral, volunteer and financial support to the historic movement and seeks encouragement in spreading the movement across the villages of Andhra Pradesh, in the national interest.

Importance of Village

Talking about the importance of village, Mahatma Gandhi writes, “I would say if the village perishes, India will perish too. It will be no more India.” (Harijan. 29.08.36.) He also proclaims once- “India lives in its villages”. This is valid even today, in many perspectives!

75% of Indian population lives in its 6000,000 villages and semi urban areas. It is in rural India that a vast potential of talent and untapped creative and intellectual energy lies. Therefore, it is imperative to the development of India that these villages develop. Yet, these villages are far behind in fulfilling the basic necessities like education, health care and financial empowerment. Lot of people still live “below poverty level” in these villages. If this group of people is not empowered, the nation as a whole cannot flourish and develop. And hence, the concept of Rural Development is a comprehensive one, emphasizing on the economic, political, social, educational, ecological and spiritual dimensions.

Our Vision

To achieve comprehensive development, self- sufficiency of our villages and to strengthen the rural community - by providing the basic needs through education, empowerment, and by preserving, practising and inculcating cultural and moral values.

Our Mission

Through an active synergy of efforts of the locals, social activists and philanthropists, and by organizing distinct social, cultural, service activities and programmes, Grameena Vikas Sangham strives to provide qualitative support in villages in the areas of education, health, agriculture, environment, spirituality and skill development for their holistic development.
