Financial support requested – Establishment of a hostel for rural youth of Srikakulam dist

Objective: Establishment of a free hostel (lodge cum boarding) for poor students of rural areas in the city of Visakhapatnam, by Grameena Vikas Sangham, Srikakulam.

Significance: Srikakulam, despite being an under-developed district in north Andhra Pradesh, plenty of students from small villages are getting through SSC exams in flying colours with 10 grade points. Many of these students are meritorious but with poor economical backgrounds. They are joining in a government or private colleges nearby mandal head-quarters and discontinuing studies after intermediate. A very few, who can afford, are moving to district head quarters, to cities and pursuing academic and technical degrees.

Grameena Vikas Sangham, Srikakulam is planning to establish of a free hostel (lodge cum boarding) for poor students of rural areas in the city of Visakhapatnam so that rural poor students get an opportunity to expose themselves to pursue any course- intermediate, poly-technical diplomas, degree, Engineering or to join in any professional training for their livelihood. The proposed hostel will be run and supervised by Visakhapatnam committee of Grameena Vikas Sangham.

Benefit: The poor village students of these two mandals enjoy free food and accommodation and secure good jobs as they receive the required awareness, education, coaching and training.

Grameena Vikas Sangham provides accommodation and food for these selected students. Expenses like College fee, books have to be borne by students themselves. They shall also keep the rooms and facilities clean and tidy.
