Plantation

Back

Today global warming has become a serious problem. It is due to the increased levels of pollutants such as Carbon Dioxide, Sulphur Dioxide, etc. The youth of Ghanasara have been trying hard to have a solution for the issue. To address this problem, the youth, not only planted trees but also took the responsibility of protecting them. This significant programme was initiated in the year 2016.

Having enlightened the villagers about the importance of plantation, the youth, procured some plants from different nurseries and purchased some more using the funds contributed by them. Then they started supplying these plants to the interested villagers and encouraged them to plant it in the premises of their houses. The people who planted them in their premises are taking care of their plants themselves. In this process, 200 plants were planted in the village. Besides this, the youth took the responsibility of planting 400 saplings up to one kilometre in their village in both sides of the highway. They protected them by arranging fencings with sticks, plastic covers, and watered them regularly. The villagers of old Ghanasara also planted 50 plants and are protecting them in similar ways. To create awareness among others, the school students of Keesara village, planted the trees and celebrated birthdays of the saplings as well as tied Rakhis around them. This entire program which is being carried out with the involvement of the villagers inspired the youth of the neighbouring villages.
